Jun Cha Will Release 'CAPO II' Skull Casts in Metal Variants

Inspired by the Roman emperor Marcus Aurelius.

Following his ‘CAPO’ Carrara marble skull edition, interdisciplinary artist Jun Cha now unveils the second installment with a new set of casts. Aptly entitled ‘CAPO II,’ the latest offering is comprised of bronze, stainless steel, and polished bronze variants. Altogether the series expands upon the artist’s examination of the memento mori inspired by the Roman emperor, Marcus Aurelius.

“Despite death as an inevitable law of Nature, embracing your mortality maintains sharp focus to live in the present and gratitude for all the things we take for granted. ‘CAPO II’ is another reminder to live each day as if it were your last,” said the artist.

Each sculpture measures 6.4” x 8” x 7” and weighs roughly 13 pounds apiece. The casts are available to preorder on Jun Cha’s website for $2,000 USD each. The signed and numbered edition will be available starting September 3 at 10 a.m. PDT.
