Take a Look Into the Photography Retrospective Honoring Karl Lagerfeld's Legacy
Running until May 15.

Although the late Karl Lagerfeld’s legacy is already cemented, Galerie Gmurzynska continues to highlight the multi-faceted personality’s devotion to the fine arts. The Zurich-based gallery and long-time collaborator of Lagerfeld’s has mounted a spontaneous photography retrospective entitled “Homage to Karl Lagerfeld, 30 Years of Photography” in honor of the icon.
The exhibition features three decades worth of photographic work from the creative genius, displaying black and white portraits of celebrities such as Pamela Anderson and Benicio del Toro, hand-colored photographs of the costumes from Oskar Schlemmer’s Triadic Ballet in the 1920s and architecture of cities he frequented. Still life pictures presented in avant-garde color schemes are also showcased, emphasizing Lagerfeld’s exploration of the unorthodox—a trait that heavily translated into his role as creative director for Chanel and Fendi.
“Homage to Karl Lagerfeld, 30 Years of Photography” will run until May 15 at Galerie Gmurzynska in Zurich.
In related news, Virginie Viard has been announced to take over Chanel as creative director.
