George Condo Displays Massive "Paintings & Works on Paper" at Skarstedt Gallery
Spotlighting recent works including a sprawling painted canvas measuring 14 feet in length.

George Condo returns to Skarstedt gallery’s New York City outpost to display a monumental body of work under the straightforward exhibition title: “Paintings & Works on Paper.”
The seminal American artist is showing predominantly recent pieces including six large-scale works on paper, three paintings measuring 10 x 11 feet, and a sprawling painted canvas that stretches 14 feet. Across these massive works, Condo highlights “the inner activity of the human psyche in relationship with the external presence of the physical body” in vivid compositions that feature his unique figurative compositions. Accompanying the larger pieces is a selection of improvisational drawings that elevate the whimsical visual narratives observed in the more giant works.
View select works above and then visit Skarstedt Gallery’s website for further information. The exhibition is on view until December 21, 2019 at the address below.
