Hennessy Enlists Artist VHILS for Limited V.S Bottle
The artist adds a mysterious twist for the cognac brand’s 8th edition.
Hennessy‘s Very Special collaborations have seen the likes of renowned artists including Ryan McGinness, OSGEMEOS and JonOne, to name a few. The cognac experts have now teamed up with artist VHILS for the 8th annual installment of their V.S limited-edition bottle. With an aim to add a socially conscious component to this year’s design, VHILS and Hennessy chose to highlight different musicians, artists and other activists working to promote creativity in their communities. The bottle artwork partially depicts the faces of these individuals, keeping them anonymous to be revealed at a later date. ”To bring this model of making the invisible visible to a global level makes this project so close to my heart,” stated VHILS.
The details of the box and label incorporate the Portuguese artist’s notable techniques of “creative destruction,” working with various elements of ink, bleach, and acid on different textures including wood, stone, and steel. The black and yellow hues reference the look of matured cognac, while Hennessy’s familiar symbols of grapes and coat of arms are subtly incorporated into the overall art.
