Adam Lucas Teams up with Historic Nom Wah Tea Parlor for "Neighborhood" Art Show
Complete with original artworks and limited merch.
Artist Adam Lucas teamed up with New York City’s oldest dim-sum restaurant, Nom Wah Tea Parlor, on a new art show entitled “Neighborhood.” The forthcoming event will display Lucas’ newly-created artworks inspired by neighborhoods of lower Manhattan. Accompanying the works is exclusive merchandise spanning jackets, sweatshirts, short- and long-sleeve T-shirts, totes, and enamel pins. All items are embellished with Lucas’ colorful cubist visuals of the Lower East Side, Chinatown, and the Doyers Street restaurant.
“Nothing has influenced me more as an artist as the vibrant visuals and culture of Lower Manhattan. The designs and art are low-key nods to both Chinatown and the surrounding areas,” said Lucas. The current owner of Nom Wah, Wilson Tang, expressed: “A lot of the moments in Chinatown are often fleeting—it’s wonderful to see Adam, a dear friend, and neighbor, to capture this in his work.”
The full range alongside artworks by Lucas will only be available at the “Neighborhood” show located in a space adjacent to the Nom Wah Nolita restaurant. The pop-up will be open to the public on May 22 from 7-10 p.m. EST and May 23 from 12-9 p.m. EST.
