Virgil Abloh's "PAY PER VIEW" Exhibit Tackles Conditioned Consumption

New work by the Off-White™ designer.

Currently showing at Takashi Murakami‘s Kaikai Kiki Gallery in Tokyo, Virgil Abloh‘s “PAY PER VIEW” exhibition touches on the conditioned consumerism that has plagued humans. In a nod to the work of Kazimir Severinovich Malevich, Abloh takes aim at one of the oldest forms of advertising, repainting the logos of billboard companies that have force-fed adverts for the better half of a century. The show also touches on how consumerism has affected even our most vital commodity, water. Check out the full gallery above to see Virgil’s commentary on the oil industry, entertainment and media. The exhibition will be on display until April 1.
