Ai Weiwei Drops "Life Cycle" T-Shirt Capsule for Solo Exhibition

Embellished graphics of the artist’s ‘Seeds’ and ‘Study of Perspective’ works.

Ai Weiwei is currently displaying large-scale works at the Marciano Art Foundation as part of his solo exhibition entitled “Life Cycle.” Now MAF gives us an exclusive look at an accompanying T-shirt capsule for the momentous presentation. His Seeds and Study of Perspective artworks are featured graphics across the range. Another tee is also embellished with one of his most famous pieces called Dropping a Han Dynasty Urn (1995).

20% of proceeds from the capsule will benefit the International Rescue Committee (IRC), an international NGO dedicated to helping those who need emergency aid and long-term assistance to refugees. “This speaks to the exhibition’s focus on refugees and displacement, specifically in his artwork of a bamboo raft that depicts a scene of a community of people all together making a perilous crossing,” as per a statement.

View the capsule above and purchase the tees exclusively at the Marciano Art Foundation. “Life Cycle” is on view until March 3, 2019. Elsewhere in art, Invader is set to launch a new solo exhibition at Over The Influence Gallery in Los Angeles, California.
