Major Keith Haring Retrospective Opening in the UK
The late artist’s first large exhibition in the country.

A major new exhibition looking at the work of Keith Haring is set to open at Tate‘s Liverpool location. The exhibit will be the late artist’s first large-scale exhibition in the UK.
Consisting of over 85 different works, the exhibition will include a number of large drawings and paintings, many of which will never have been displayed in the UK before. Other items in the exhibit will include printed flyers, posters, archival videos and photographs, as well as Haring’s 1982 Black Light installation of fluorescent works under UV light, set to a hip-hop soundtrack.
Announcing the exhibition, Tate Liverpool director Helen Legg explained that “Keith Haring and Liverpool have much in common. They’re both politically engaged with a history of activism, a strong sense of social justice and a love of music and fashion. Tate Liverpool is proud to be bringing this major exhibition and reassessment of Keith Haring to the city.” The exhibition will open on June 14, 2019, and run until November 10.
