Pablo Picasso Faces off With George Condo in New Sotheby's Hong Kong Exhibit

On view starting March.

Sotheby’s Gallery in Hong Kong is set to launch a new exhibit featuring “psychologically-charged” paintings by iconic artists George Condo and Pablo Picasso. Titled “Face-Off: Picasso/Condo,” the showcase aims to highlight the similarities and differences between the two artists’ portrait paintings—produced in two different time periods with distinct styles and movements. Collectively, all pieces will be for sale with pricing details to be determined by the gallerist.

“By placing portrait paintings from two distinctly different periods side by side, the show will examine the creative processes of the two artists while celebrating the dialogue between their works,” said in the institution in a statement. “We look forward to shining a spotlight on this genre when the exhibition opens in our Hong Kong Gallery this spring.”

“Face-Off: Picasso/Condo” will be open to the public starting March 16 up until the 31st. Find the address below and visit Sotheby’s Hong Kong’s official website to learn more.
