Get Your Nostalgia on With These Retro Nintendo NES-Inspired Animated GIFS

Super Mario, Mega Man, Donkey Kong and more.

Back to Bits is a new, curated animated project that pays tribute to retro Nintendo NES games from 1980-90s. The ongoing project consists of 40 professional artists including illustrators, animators and designers who have an incredible affinity for video games. From Zelda to Mega Man, these artists created a slew of whimsical, animated GIFs portraying beloved NES characters that will surely bring a smile to any die-hard Nintendo fan.

Creator of Back to Bits, Jerry Liu, states that the concept was fueled by “the nostalgic desire to go ‘back to the bit era’ when games were measured in bits, NES 8-bit and SNES 16-bit.” Having added that “the project serves as a light-hearted creative outlet to bring like-minded artists together to share work, celebrate their love for these games and inspire the next generation of gamers.”
