Libraries are quiet, but often have a funny smell (especially in New York). E-books are inexpensive, but tablets aren’t always so. For most people, there’s something tirelessly charming about sitting in a bookstore, voraciously pouring over a stack of books. If so inclined, the historic Rizzoli Bookstore, located in the heart of Midtown New York, seems the right location to do just that. Established in 1980 in a converted six-story townhouse (the former home of Sohmer & Co. Pianos), the neoclassic interior of Rizzoli’s flagship store contains more than enough books to keep you entertained on a rainy day.
