The curtains are set to open on September 6 at the Joshua Liner Gallery in Brooklyn for the opening of Steve Powers‘ “A Word Is Worth A Thousand Pictures” exhibition. To coincide with the showing, Powers (also known as ESPO) takes a moment to tour us through his studio, where he provides insight into some of his ideas that begin as sketches on the subway and later manifest into color paintings. Touching on his creative processes — much of which seems to pivot around wordplay and witticism — the New York-based artist uses colorful signage to communicate his art.
