The 2012 London Olympics went out with many a bang, by closing in a spectacular, star-studded affair celebrating some of Britain’s greatest commercial and artistic talents in the worlds of art, music and fashion. One of those special talents belonged to Damien Hirst — an English artist and entrepreneur, whose unique spin on the Union Jack filled the length and breadth of the stadium grounds. Unlike many of the renditions featured throughout the games, Hirst’s take on it utilized the artist’s signature spin-style motif, although this particular effort was highly likely to be his largest installation yet.
