“Louis Vuitton – Marc Jacobs” is an exhibition that highlights the contributions made to fashion by these two legends of the industry. While much of Marc’s contributions have been made under the umbrella of the Vuitton name — and will remain this way as Jacobs denied claims he will move his talents to Dior – his impact is hard to dispute. His collections have masterfully articulated cultural phenomenon while ultimately being product that is desirable for purchase. Vuitton, on the other hand, was known for his untouchable dedication to quality and designs that are classics to this day. The exhibition weighs the careers of both men, comparing their bodies of work in a way that provides insight into the fashion system during each man’s era. Held as the famous Museé des Arts Decoratifs in Paris, the exhibition is set to run from March 9-16, 2012.
