Production company Commonwealth Projects presents a video documentation of Hedi Slimane’s “California Song” installation at MOCA’s Pacific Design Center in Los Angeles, California. Although known for his influential fashion design, the French contemporary is held in high regards for his photography and furniture design as well. Slimane’s first major solo show offered a window into the spirit of Los Angeles as a two-floor exhibit, with the first consisting of photos and mirrors installed in a labyrinth of plywood forms and the second floor centered by a large, seemingly floating cube. The video above was filmed over the course of “California Song”‘s opening week, including footage from opening night, No Age’s performance rehearsal, billboards across LA and of course, artwork from the show.
