The Os Gemeos “balloon head” installation was created exclusively for the 2011 edition of the Back2Black Festival in Rio de Janeiro promoting global appreciation for African culture in Brazil. From August 26-28, the centenarian Estação Leopoldina (Leopoldina Station) will again serve as a platform for concerts, debates, exhibitions and artistic interventions, divided into four different spaces, with more than 20 musical act this year. The installation includes dozens of large balloons in yellow and orange and will feature cartoon men and women’s faces above the festival goers.
