Legendary fashion designer Issey Miyake has teamed up with the equally as talented photographer

Legendary fashion designer Issey Miyake has teamed up with the equally as talented photographer Irving Penn for a fascinating artistic exhibition in Tokyo. The two began what is quite literally a visual dialogue after a mutual acquaintance began bringing select Miyake pieces to New York from Tokyo in order for Penn to shoot. Breathing new life into the already vibrant garments, the photographer’s resulting images are at once an homage to Miyake’s work as well as a testament to his own. Open September 16, 2011 through April 8, 2012 at Inside Tokyo Midtown.
