Having shot for a number of high-profile publications including Vogue Paris, Vogue Japan, Interview, Muse and more, photographer David Mushegain is no stranger to being behind the lens. What fascinated Mushegain the most, however, were the subjects the he found himself shooting on the opposite side of the camera. Having spent a lot of time around artists, musicians and other young creative types, the photographer quickly discovered that each and every one of them was unique and had a story to tell. He began taking pictures of the people he met, stopping his car alongside the street to run after subjects. The result is a series of black and white portraits that are currently on display at Parisian hotspot colette as part of a new installation entitled, “Don’t Call It Cool.” Curated by Mushegain and presented in partnership with RVCA and Luck You Collective, the exhibition will be on display from July 4 through August 27.
