Destroyed, Moby’s next album is accompanied by a photo book of the same name. A fascinating litany of images taken worldwide, Destroyed presents a series of surrealist deserted spaces and urban “non-places.” Behind the scenes of an international odyssey, Destroyed reveals a rarely seen aspect of tourism, time spent in artificial spaces like hotel bedrooms, waiting rooms or backstage. Published by Damiani, the hardback edition of Destroyed is 128 pages and features 55 photographs taken by Moby. Mobyʼs key photographic influences are drawn mostly from the early-to-mid 20th century, including such names as Irving Penn, André Kertész and Edward Steichen. Other, more recent influences include Sally Mann and Wolfgang Tillmans. Shown is a look into a recent exhibition at colette celebrating the book release.
