Spanning some 4,000 stickers, Stickers: From Punk Rock to Contemporary Art will come in as the definitive guide to the world of stickers. From its earliest waves thanks to Andy Warhol’s Banana sticker in 1966 to its widespread dominance on the streets around the world, the book details the sticker’s rise. With initial roots in the punk movement, stickers are now a multi-faceted communication tool. The book features examples from many artists of different background with texts by ESPO, Swoon, Clatyon Patterson and others. True to the book’s subject, it comes with eight sheets of stickers with original works from artists including Barry McGee, Ryan McGinness and José Parlá. The book will release on September 14th through Rizzoli Books with Anonymous Shop among the stockists.
