Summary

  • Barry McGee and V1 Gallery in Copenhagen have released a 10-piece print series in honor of the ongoing Nature Inside Me exhibition
  • Now available via the gallery’s website, the launch features 5 hand-pulled screen prints in color and recycled variations available for €1050 and €700 EUR respectively.

Earlier this summer, Bay Area legend Barry McGee headed to Copenhagen to open a new solo exhibition, Nature Inside Me, at V1’s Eighteen Gallery. With cues taken from American folk art, sign-making, Op Art and graffiti, the showcase builds on McGee’s ongoing interrogation and material (dis)order, reflecting on the state of contemporary society — particularly those on the fringes or choose not to play by its rules.

To coincide with the exhibition, McGee has collaborated with V1 on a 10-piece print run. Crafted in Copenhagen, this latest suite of hand-pulled screen print draw from the artist’s extensive magazine archive from the last three decades, fusing illustration, text and photography in playful compositions.

The color and recycled series are currently up for grabs on V1’s website, each consisting of five prints for a total of 1o. Priced at €1050 EUR, the color series is limited to an edition 27, while the recycled series is limited to an edition of 50 for €700 each. Both series are signed and numbered by the artist and measure 50 x 70 cm.

Head to V1’s website to check them out.
