Summary

  • The Fondazione Milano Cortina has revealed 5 posters for the 2026 Milano Cortina Winter Olympic and Paralympic Games.
  • The organization tapped 10 Italian artists for the upcoming games, spotlighting themes of competition, collaboration, resilience and joy through gouache, acrylic, oil, digital and mixed-media compositions.

As Milano Cortina 2026 draws near, a new league of Italian artists present their take on the long-standing poster tradition. Triennale Milano and Fondazione Milano Cortina have unveiled the official art posters for the upcoming Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games next January. Helmed by Damiano Gullì and the international Olympic and Paralympic committees, the initiative invited 10 artists under 40 to reimagine the events through the lens of Italian contemporary art, bringing forth a range of gouache, acrylic, digital and mixed-media compositions.

This year’s cohort of Olympic poster artists features an all-women roster with contributions from Beatrice Alici, Martina Cassatella, Giorgia Garzilli, Maddalena Tesser and Flaminia Veronesi. From Garzilli’s gelato-stacked Olympic rings to Alici’s milk-white ski scene and Cassatella’s fiery hand-as-torch, each piece offers a vibrant take on competition and collaboration, through themes of myth, joy and bliss.

The Paralympic series shifts focus to strength, resilience and solidarity. Works by Roberto De Pinto, Andrea Fontanari, Aronne Pleuteri, Clara Woods and Giulia Mangoni celebrate human connection, adaptive power and emotional triumph envisioned through plumes of color, poetic textual elements and a look back on the tender moment shared between Braima Suncar Dabo and Jonathan Busby at the 2019 Doha World Championships.

Dating back to 1972, the Olympic art posters serve as symbolic reflections of the Games’ triumphant spirit, previously spotlighting cultural icons like Andy Warhol, David Hockney and Hirohiko Araki of Jojo’s Bizarre Adventure for the Tokyo Games in 2020. Now, a new generation of artists carries the torch forward.

All ten posters, alongside the official torches of Milano Cortina 2026 are now on view at Piano Parco Galleries through March 15, 2026. Head more information on the designs, head to the Games’ website.
