Take A Look At The Skateroom's Dreamlike Jim Jarmusch Collab

Iconic filmmaker, elusive visual artist, and self-proclaimed night owl Jim Jarmusch is difficult to pin down. However, he and The Skateroom have teamed up for the first time to release an exclusive collaboration, available only for the next 48 hours.

True to his persona, the deck’s artwork also has a late-night origin story. Nearly 40 years ago, the filmmaker sat up into the early hours of the night, photographing a series of snapshots from influential black and white movies on an analog TV screen. Those photos remained hidden in the archives until now.

The result is a hauntingly simplistic but beautiful visual collage. Each deck features a random combination of three snapshots. Like much of his work, the dreamlike narrative between each photo is up to the viewer’s interpretation.

To honor the release, Jarmusch also teamed up with Miami skateboarder Beatrice Domond for a black and white short film. The clip features Domond trying out the decks while riding through the streets of New York.

The Skateroom x Jim Jarmusch collaboration retails for $150 USD. The decks are available for purchase for the next 48 hours on theskateroom.com. You can checkout the pieces in the gallery above, and stay tuned to Hypebeast for more updates.
