Loewe Foundation Announces 2025 Craft Prize Shortlist

Works from the 30 finalists will go on display at the Thyssen-Bornemisza National Museum in Madrid.

The LOEWE FOUNDATION has released the shortlist for the 2025 Craft Prize. Chosen from a pool of over 4,500 applications, the final lineup of 30 artists from 18 countries will present their works in a special group exhibition at Thyssen-Bornemisza National Museum in Madrid from May 30 through June 29, 2025.

The 2025 prize winner will be announced on May 29, during the show’s opening ceremony, and will receive a €50,000 award. The artist will be selected by a jury of 13 leading names in design, architecture, journalism, criticism and museum curatorship.

“Year on year it gives me such pleasure to see the LOEWE FOUNDATION Craft Prize provide a platform for extraordinary talent, and change the perception of craft internationally,” said the Foundation’s president Sheila Loewe. “Over the past decade we have seen the Prize transform lives, careers, and build a global community. It is my great privilege to continue my family’s legacy.”

Founded in 2016 by creative director Jonathan Anderson, the award honors the house’s roots as a craft workshop through artistic dedication, excellence and innovation. The 2025 pick will follow last year’s winner, Mexican ceramic artist Andrés Anza, for his spiked, columnar piece, titled I only know what I have seen (2023).
