CJ Hendry Debuts juju, Her First Collectible Toy Series With Phillips

Contemporary artist Cj Hendry is making her foray into the world of collectible art toys with the launch of her first-ever series: juju. Known for her hyperrealist drawings and immersive installations, this project, developed in partnership with Phillips, marks a playful new chapter in her artistic journey.
Both an artwork and a character, juju is a mysterious yet endearing figure, characterized by its floppy ears, a watchful eye and a flower draped gently across its face. More than a toy, juju is conceived as a friend, a guardian and a muse, inviting curiosity and connection while marking Hendry’s third major project in Hong Kong.
The juju debut will feature a spectacular Christmas installation at Upper House Hong Kong, where a towering tree composed of 200 oversized plush green juju toys will be unveiled on November 17, 2025. This whimsical display will remain on view until January 2, 2026, with each plush juju on the tree being available for “adoption.” Simultaneously, from November 29 to December 2, a special pop-up exhibition dedicated to juju will also be opened to the public at Phillips’ West Kowloon location in Hong Kong.
Proceeds from these adoptions will benefit Mother’s Choice, a local charity supporting children without families and pregnant teenagers in Hong Kong. And after the dismantling of the Upper House installation in January, each adopted juju will be presented in a bespoke wooden collector’s box with an individually signed and numbered adoption card.
Following this debut, juju will evolve into a broader collectible universe. A series of bag charms priced at $24 USD/$188 HKD will be released in 24 variations, offered in blind boxes to emphasize rarity and surprise.
