MAMM Exhibition Explores Climate Change Through ‘Atlas of the New World'

The Multimedia Art Museum (MAMM) in Moscow is showcasing Atlas of the New World, an exhibition running from April 13 to August 18, 2024. Curated by Olga Daniele, this collection features the work of Italian photographers Edoardo Delille and Giulia Piermartiri.

Starting in 2019, Delille and Piermartiri embarked on a mission to document the harsh realities of climate change. Their project spans Asia, Africa, Europe, and North America, capturing vulnerable regions and projecting what they might look like by the end of the century.

Daniele explains the concept: “Climate change will drastically reshape the world map, but these changes won’t be visible for decades. We aimed to visualize the future through the lens of today. Using United Nations climate data, we photographed current landscapes and projected future scenarios onto them. The result is a series of hauntingly dreamlike images that offer a glimpse into what might come.”

Atlas of the New World presents a stark vision of our potential future if climate change isn’t addressed. Head to MAMM’s website for more information.
