High Museum of Art Spotlights Swizz Beatz & Alicia Keys' Dean Collection

A trove of monumental works that focus on Black diasporic artists across generations.

Exhibitions

Earlier this year, the Brooklyn Museum presented a major showcase of artworks from the personal collection of Swizz Beatz and Alicia Keys. Now, the High Museum of Art in Atlanta will be the next institution to host the collection of monumental works from the couple’s blue-chip holdings. Entitled ‘Giants: Art from the Dean Collection of Swizz Beatz and Alicia Keys,’ running from September 13, 2024, to January 19, 2025.

‘Giants’ highlights a curated selection of works from Swizz Beatz and Alicia Keys’ Dean Collection, focusing on Black diasporic artists across generations. Featured artists include 20th-century icons like Nick Cave, Lorna Simpson, and Barkley L. Hendricks, as well as contemporary voices such as Deana Lawson, Amy Sherald, and Ebony G. Patterson.

The exhibition will present around 115 objects, with 98 major artworks, tracing the growth of the Deans’ collection and exploring its cultural impact. Alongside paintings, photographs, and sculptures, visitors can expect to see items from the Deans’ personal collections, such as albums, musical equipment, and BMX bikes. Head to the High Museum of Art’s website for more information.
