World's Collide in Steven Harrington's Latest Print

‘Getting Away’ is based on a painting in the artist’s current show and will release on July 12.

Steven Harrington‘s first museum solo is in its final weeks on view at the Amorepacific Museum of Art in Seoul. To celebrate this career milestone, the Los Angeles-based artist is set to release a new screen print entitled Getting Away.

The artwork is an exact replica of a painting in his Stay Mello exhibition, depicting Harrington’s universe of characters drifting away from a radiating Earth. Like the scene itself, the artist has shown a steady rise over the past 15 years — fielding a number of high profile collaborations with Nike and the former Colette store in Paris, to hosting exhibition’s in his native LA, China and Seoul. “I’m still trying processing it all,” Harrington recently told Hypeart. “A lot of artists are never given the chance to see their work in a museum like this within their lifetime.”

Limited to an edition of 120, Getting Away is a 17-color screen print that is topped with glossy black ink and measures 48 x 32 inches tall. Signed and numbered by the artist, the print is produced on 320gsm Coventry Rag paper with deckled edges and will release on July 12th at 10am PST. Meanwhile, Stay Mello is on view until July 14, 2024.
