SCOPE Art Show 2024 Explores Interdependence and Innovation

Including a Hypeart presentation that explores the synergy of human creativity and technological advancement.

Events

This December, SCOPE Art Show returns to Miami Beach with an exploration of interdependence and the power of collaboration, transforming the fair into a vibrant hub for artists, collectors, and enthusiasts. Running from December 3-8, SCOPE promises a week of art, innovation and immersive experiences by a gamut of contemporary artists from across the globe.

As first-ever Director, Hayley River Smith has been working closely with Founder, Alexis Hubshman to sharpen SCOPE’s focus on global creative exchange. SCOPE will feature 87 galleries from 15 countries and introduce 43 new exhibitors from cities like Warsaw, Lagos, and Portland. Known for its Ocean Drive pavilion during Miami Art Week, the fair draws over 100,000 visitors with its forward-looking blend of emerging art and boundary-crossing installations through The New Contemporary platform. Reflecting this year’s theme of Interdependence, SCOPE channels the powerful global dialogues it fosters among artists, galleries, and audiences.

As Smith shared, “There’s a synergy across this year’s galleries that captures SCOPE’s forward-thinking vision. Visitors will walk away inspired by the dynamic, boundary-pushing exchanges that define SCOPE’s place on the global art stage.”

Moreover, Hypeart’s installation at the Central Lounge will delve into humanity’s evolving relationship with technology, posing questions about our role as creators or vessels in an increasingly digital world. Inspired by ancient Greek philosophy, “Technê” blurs the lines between analog and digital artistry, inviting viewers to consider the synergy of human creativity and technological advancement.

Hebru Brantley’s Black Oddyssey reimagines the 1920s carnival freakshow, infusing it with African American culture through his iconic characters, Flyboy and Lil Mama. The playful installation celebrates resilience and creativity, inviting visitors to immerse themselves in a world of wonder that will include hand-painted posters of stage acts based on historic photographs, vividly colored circus tents, lighting and sound that create a carnival spectacle, and limited edition keepsakes.
