YOSHIROTTEN Officially Unveils “MOON LANDING” at BELOWGROUND

Coinciding with the Mid-Autumn Festival this month.

Last month in Hong Kong’s LANDMARK Atrium, YOSHIROTTEN showcased “FLUID GARDEN,” a large-scale and immersive installation that amalgamates digital art with spatial design. Returning to the city again this month, the Japanese multi-disciplinary artist just completed the second phase of his project, where sofas from “FLUID GARDEN” are transformed into “MOON LANDING,” and nestled in the mall’s BELOWGROUND space.

In a previous interview with Hypebeast, YOSHIROTTEN briefly explained how his nine sculptural sofas were all made to fit together like puzzle pieces. He also hinted how the final form will not only represent but also celebrate a special full moon in the month.

Just as the artist hinted, “MOON LANDING” will be coinciding with the Mid-Autumn Festival at the end of September, serving as a captivating display that evokes a sense of unity for the annual celebration. Alongside the large-scale, moon-like centerpiece are four new graphic artworks featuring abstract and circular forms, all doused in YOSHIROTTEN’s signature spectrum of colors. In creating an equally surreal home for the artwork and sculpture, the space surrounding the pieces is also coated in the same metallic material as the ones used in “FLUID GARDEN”.

In addition, BELOWGROUND is offering one of the four Monolith Objects as gifts for visitors who’ve spent over $5000 HKD (approximately$640 USD). These small sculptural pieces are modeled after the four new artworks as shown in the exhibition and are subject to limited availability.

YOSHIROTTEN’s “MOON LANDING” will be available for public viewing until October 1, 2023.
