Gagosian Launches Private Library Curation Service

Headed by its rare book specialist Douglas Flamm.

Gagosian, the renowned global network of art galleries, known for its modern and contemporary exhibitions, has announced the launch of a private library building advisory service — led by its rare book specialist Douglas Flamm.

As part of the curation service, Flamm, a twenty-five-year veteran of his craft, will assist select clients with building out private libraries, whether as a reference collection or from scratch in the case of a new collection for a new home. The process is said to include individualized consultations that are designed to yield a bespoke list of titles.

Gagosian shared that thanks to his significant experience, Flamm “boasts unparalleled know-how in sourcing scarce and important publications, from catalogs raisonnés and museum exhibition catalogs to monographs and artist’s books, including rare and out-of-print titles as well as newer releases.”

Flamm’s expertise spans a vast range, including twentieth- and twenty-first-century artists and movements to Picasso, Abstract Expressionism, Pop art, Minimalism and more. Other areas of focus include architectural-based titles, on subjects like Art Deco, Bauhaus and Modernism.

Collectors interested in utilizing Flamm’s services are encouraged to make their inquires through contact info found on Gagosian’s official site.
