Singaporean Artist Jahan Loh Unveils 'COSMIC DREAMING'

His first solo exhibition in Bangkok, Thailand.

Singaporean contemporary artist, Jahan Loh, renowned for his unique blend of street art, pop culture and Eastern iconography, is set to reveal his latest solo exhibition, COSMIC DREAMING, his very first in Bangkok, Thailand.

Spanning over two decades, Loh’s career has been marked by a profound engagement with themes of identity, consumerism and the interplay between Eastern and Western cultures.

Born in 1976, Loh’s artistic journey began with an early fascination for the 1980s street art and hip-hop culture. This formative period laid the groundwork for his exploration of deeper themes, encapsulated in his art. Loh’s work is distinguished by its ability to transcend cultural boundaries, merging Western elements like graffiti and manga with traditional Eastern art forms. This fusion invites viewers to re-examine their cultural identities in an ever-evolving global landscape.

Loh’s art notably reflects on themes of contemporary life, addressing social issues, cultural clashes and society’s dynamic existence. His reverence for Asian heritage is evident as he draws inspiration from Eastern art forms like calligraphy and ink painting, reinterpreted in a modern context. Besides painting, Loh has expanded his artistic expression into graphic design, digital art, fashion and music, further demonstrating his versatility as a multi-disciplinary artist.

COSMIC DREAMING delves into the themes of teleportation, space-time travel and the convergence of physical and digital realities. Loh uses the spaceman as a metaphorical representation of human potential, exploring the notion of transcending physical boundaries. His paintings, a blend of traditional and digital techniques, depict spacemen in motion, symbolizing fluid transition across dimensions and realities.

During the exhibition, curated by ArtCEO and hosted by 333 Gallery, Loh will have a variety of original works up for sale, ranging from an edition of 8 for $6,000 USD each to one-of-one works priced at $25,000 USD each. In addition to the works, the exhibition has brought together a significant number of partners and sponsors, including names like Futura Laboratories, Josh “STASH” Franklin, Subware, ACU, NDPD, Enviseam, PHANTACi and Carnival — who also has a store front at the location and will be producing the official merchandise for the exhibition.

For those wishing ot see the exhibition in person, it will be taking place at 333 Gallery’s Warehouse 30 location, starting at 6:00 pm ICT Wednesday December 6.
