ART SG Launches Inaugural Edition During Singapore Art Week

Southeast Asia’s largest international art fair.

SG

Held during Singapore Art Week, ART SG debuts as the largest international art fair for Singapore and Southeast Asia. The event presented by Founding and Lead partner UBS and organized by The Art Assembly brings together over 160 leading galleries worldwide for collectors, curators and cultural stakeholders in the region.

In addition to the main GALLERIES sector showcasing exceptional artworks by international and regional galleries like David Zwirner, Gagosian and White Cube, the ART SG lineup will also include several specialty sectors.

FOCUS features galleries with solo or duo artist programs, or curated thematic presentations, with an emphasis on Southeast Asian and Asian artists as well as emerging international names. An example is Kukje Gallery’s solo showcase by renowned Aboriginal artist Daniel Boyd, who is best known for challenging the romanticist notions behind Australia’s colonial history.

FUTURES is dedicated to supporting young galleries under the age of six years, presenting works specially created for ART SG within the past 18 months that have not been previously exhibited.

REFRAME celebrates Singapore’s position at the forefront of technological innovation by highlighting new experimentations in digital art and technology-driven works. This includes digital painting, animation, immersive installations, augmented or virtual reality and NFTs.

The fair will also have public art programs for large-scale site-specific installations, a curated film sector, and thought-provoking educational talks. ART SG will run from January 12 to 15, with tickets available for purchase at artsg.com.

Elsewhere in art, Porsche opens two new exhibitions centered around its signature 911 for Singapore Art Week.
