No More Rulers Celebrates Pop Art Icon in ‘Warhol-isms’ Book

Including a limited giveaway of 25 copies.

No More Rulers and Daniel Arsham recently launched an in-person book signing at Perrotin for the artist’s SKETCHBOOK publication. No More Rulers now returns with the unveiling of a new edition to its signature -ISMs series: Warhol-isms. Centering around the late and legendary Pop Artist, Andy Warhol, the book encompasses a comprehensive collection of storied quotations from the commercial art master himself.

“These quotes paint a portrait of an enigmatic, confident thinker who not only formed the blueprints for current ideas of art, identity, and popular culture, but whose voice still continues to shape them,” said No More Rulers in a statement.

Published in collaboration with Princeton University Press that expressed in a statement saying Warhol “is so quotable that things he never said are endlessly and plausibly attributed to him, including, fittingly, the most celebrated fake Warhol saying—‘In the future, everyone will be world-famous for 15 minutes.’” Highlighted quotes in the book touch on various aspects of the multifaceted Warhol through distinct chapters including Life, Art, Film and Technology as well as People and Places.

Select quotations from the book:
“I think an artist is anybody who does something well.”
“I went to [a psychiatrist] once, and he never called me back.”
“They always say that time changes things, but you actually have to change them yourself.”
“I’ve never met a person I couldn’t call a beauty.”
“New things are always better than old things.”
“I’m still a commercial artist. I was always a commercial artist.”

No More Rulers is celebrating the launch of Warhol-isms by launching a giveaway of 25 copies on its official Instagram account. The giveaway will run from May 2 through May 6 with winners contacted by NMR via DM on May 6. For those interested in purchasing the book, head to No More Rulers’ website to pick up a copy for $14.95 USD.
