Watch German Filmmaker Wim Wenders on Capturing Intimate Polaroid Images

Proving disposable images are worth cherishing.

Oscar-nominated German filmmaker Wim Wenders is the subject of NOWNESS’ latest Photographers in Focus video series.

In the intimate clip, Wenders asserts his longtime passion for capturing Polaroid images. Although Polaroid captures are immediate and disposable, the filmmaker expressed that the medium offers prolonged memories of a fleeting moment and how the act of gifting these visuals to another person is ultimately indescribable. Sequences depicting Wenders’ photos are prevalent throughout the clip, spotlighting quintessential scenes of American landscapes, close friends, and varying light-leaked subjects.

Let Wenders inspire you to capture Polaroids by watching the clip above and then check out the British Fashion Council’s Polaroid perspectives of A-COLD-WALL*, Wales Bonner, and more London Fashion Week participants earlier this January.
