Animator James Curran Creates Kitschy GIFs in Homage to Tokyo
A 30 day challenge.
Currently living Tokyo, London-based animator James Curran has set out to document his time there in GIF form. Curran’s latest GIFathon — he’s done LA and New York in the past — will run for the next 30 days, a new animation for each. Each day Curran will set out to find inspiration, which is not difficult in a place like Tokyo. So far the GIFs find Curran’s character running through cherry blossoms, eating an infinite amount of noodles and eating at a conveyer belt sushi restaurant. Each GIF takes Curran about six hours to complete. Stay tuned for more works and get a recap of his past works below.
