Peel Back Hong Kong's Many Layers In This Epic Video

Experience the many faces of the city, from lion dancing to urban exploration.

As a last word in urban density, Hong Kong is a city of a thousand faces. While most tourists can only afford to skim just the glitziest and most glamorous that the city has to offer, it takes years of living in Hong Kong to even begin to understand the essence of this conglomeration of 7 million people. Filmmaker Brandon Li’s short, titled “Hong Kong Strong,” comes the closest yet to capturing the multifaceted Hong Kong experience. Unafraid to show both the world-class face that the city presents as well as its gritty underbelly, Li juxtaposes lion dancing troupes with urban explorers, delicate Michelin-starred high cuisine with no-nonsense dai pai dong grub, and the sound and fury of Cantonese opera with dazzling fireworks displays over the ageless Victoria Harbor. Take a glimpse of this epically-shot work of cinematography, and check out the rest of Li’s works over here.
