Julian Klincewicz Photographed Gosha Rubchinskiy's Skate Crew for New 'ЖУРНАЛ' Zine

“There really is a good mood and atmosphere around skating in Russia.”

California-based artist Julian Klincewicz has previewed his upcoming zine project, titled ЖУРНАЛ, with Dazed Digital. The California-based artist and creative linked up with Russian designer/photographer Gosha Rubchinskiy via Instagram before the latter invited Klincewicz to Russia to hang out with him and his crew of local skaters. The resultant photos have been gathered into a pocket-sized zine in collaboration with Union Los Angeles and Vault by Vans. The analog photos reveal a ragtag group as refracted through Klincewicz’s lo-fi, VHS aesthetic and his fascination with the local aesthetic, architecture and language.

Check out some of the zine’s choice shots and head on over to Dazed for more on the collaborative release and be on the lookout for the zine’s limited, 300-issue release on April 28 at Union and a wider release at select stockists on April 29.
