John Margaritis "High Tide" @ New York Sunshine for Art Basel Miami 2015
Featuring 300 hand-dyed indigo tees, the showing blurs the line between fashion and art.

Multidisciplinary artist John Margaritis is set to debut his “High Tide” exhibition at New York Sunshine, of which he is also the owner and creative director of, for Art Basel 2015 in Wynwood, Miami. As a followup to his acclaimed ”Hoop Dreams” series, which was showed at Art Basel Miami 2015 earlier this year and succeeded by a string of gallery exhibitions in cities around the globe, Margaritis once again introduces a visually stunning installation that oscillates the line between art and fashion. The showing utilizes 130 feet of undulating wooden shelving that houses 300 hand-dyed indigo T-shirts with the pieces becoming increasingly deeper in hue as the viewer is further immersed in the space, emulating the artist’s experience along a shoreline. In addition, each shirt is numbered and sold as an active edition of an artwork. The exhibition is set to open on November 30.
