Recently, artist Adam Lister experimented with deconstructed and pixelated imagery, similar to that of 8-bit graphic video games, to explore notable figures in popular culture and famous pieces of art. The American painter combined his familiar pixelated technique with the uneven texture of watercolor paintings for an eclectic range of images. Featuring an array of recognizable movie and television characters like Spock, Star Wars and The Simpsons, as well as famous paintings like The Son of Man, the paintings offer up an experience that is enigmatic and entertaining.
