Swiss-born New York-based artist Olaf Breuning is best known for his bizarre approach to art, most notably the Home series which stars a character confused between reality and fiction. Furthering his unconventional aesthetics, Breuning created a smoke bomb of rainbow-colored fumes at Art Basel Miami 2013, titled “Smoke Grid.” The sculpture placed in proximity to the “Appearing Rooms” water fountain by Jeppe Hein was a part of the ABMB fair—an open-air exhibition outside of the confinements of the convention center. Watch the short below where Breuning speaks on the making of “Smoke Grid” and share your thoughts with us.
