Public Art Project "Forest for the Trees" Launches in Portland, Oregon

From the socially conscious minds of the Pacific Northwest – with support from Hawaiian art

From the socially conscious minds of the Pacific Northwest – with support from Hawaiian art consortium POW! WOW! and Portland’s Hellion Gallery – comes the launch of Forest For The Trees, a public mural project with the goal of engaging the surrounding Oregonian community in the process of beautifying their local neighborhoods. Starting on August 18, a group of 16 renowned artist – including Blaine Fontana, Erik Otto, Gage Hamilton, J.Shea, Jun Inoue, Kamea Hadar, Madsteez, Marcelo Macedo, MEGGS, Mhak, Oyama Enrico Isamu Letter, Rone, Taka Sudo, Yoskay Yamamoto and Zach Yarrington – gathered in the American Northwest city for a week-long event to bring their own personal style to the city’s walls, inviting its inhabitants to join in on the fun. Not only did “Forest for the Trees” aid in bringing color and life to Portland, but everyone in attendance were able to witness the glorious project from start to finish, engaging and interacting with each artist along the way.
