James Jean "Parallel Lives" Exhibition @ Tilton Gallery

Following last fall’s debut of his brand new line of accessories, OVM, California-based Taiwanese-American artist James Jean is set to open his second solo show in New York later this month, entitled “Parallel Lives.” Appearing at the Tilton Gallery, “Parallel Lives” is inspired by Plutarch’s Lives of the Noble Greeks and Romans – a series of 1st century biographies exploring the commonalities of noteworthy men through history – and explores the idea that destruction is a necessary component to further creation. Featuring a variety of mixed-media works alongside both paintings and drawings, “Parallel Lives” will be open at the Tilton Gallery from January 9 through February 16 while a special catalog of the show, limited to 1,000 signed and numbered pieces, will be available to those in attendance.
