Following a two-month fabrication process, a time-lapse film of Damien Hirst and his studio assistants crafting a new piece by affixing various sized stainless steel scalpel blades onto a circular black canvas is available for viewing. Destruction Dreamscape is reminiscent of his past Kaleidoscope paintings – where intermittent areas of colored gloss paint have been layered in between the blades. While embedding isn’t permitted, head over to Damien Hirst’s website which has been allowing viewers to share a live look at the creative process over these last few months.
