First introduced in the Middle Ages, the harpsichord has sustained a life into the 21st century thanks to craftsmen like Vancouver, British Columbia’s Craig Tomlinson. Captured on film by videographer Morgan Inglis, Tomlinson explains how he first became interested in instrument production while also illustrating the process he goes through in order to create one of the handmade beauties. Set to both Bon Iver’s “Perth” and “Wavy Glass” by Podington Bear, this five-minute piece illustrates the quality that is inherent in the handmade works of a true master craftsman.
