A true testament to the power of the internet, Olly Moss is a 24-year-old British artist who first emerged in the public eye after designing shirts on Threadless and later garnered an avid following through posting pieces on his Tumblr. The first artist to ever sell out Gallery 1988 on Melrose, Olly’s “Paper Cuts” exhibit is a comprehensive retrospective of major pop culture icons from the last quarter-century. Showcasing laser-cut paper silhouettes of characters from the cast of Saved by the Bell to the Muppets, Spider-Man and Scrooge McDuck (whose portrait carries a lofty price of $10 million), each one of the cut-outs is one-of-a-kind and hung in antique, museum-style frames. For those of you in Cali, the show is open through May 20.
