The art of origami has been a time-tested tradition amongst the Japanese. “One Thousand Cranes for Japan” was conceived with the idea of exchanging exclusive artist designed origami papers for a small donation towards the Japanese rebuilding efforts. Japanese folklore states that folding a thousand cranes will grant a wish to that particular person. Several artists have jumped on board including animators Zeitguised, photographer Todd Selby, artist Paul Slater, creative collective Actop, illustrators Brian Grimwood, Hennie Haworth, Laura Quick, Matt Lyon and directors Tokyo Plastic.
