Phillips Auction House Will Add a New Gallery in Los Angeles

Opening October 2022.

Los Angeles has become a go-to destination for aspiring artists and institutions over the past 25 years. Pace and Marian Goodman recently announced their plans to set up shop in the City of Angels, joining a growing list of blue-chip galleries, including Hauser & Wirth, who will also add a second location in West Hollywood this fall.

Phillips auction house just announced that they too will open a new gallery space in LA this October. “Countless artists and creators have found inspiration here in California and I am thrilled to be a part of the founding Phillips LA team. We are eager to share all that Phillips is known for with the greater Los Angeles community,” said Blake Koh, Senior Specialist and Regional Director of Los Angeles.

Similar to the new Hauser & Wirth gallery, Phillip’s LA outpost will be located in WeHo and will showcase an extensive program of exhibitions, along with traveling highlights from auctions in New York, London, Hong Kong and Geneva, as well as private selling exhibitions specifically curated for the space.

Phillips will announce more on the burgeoning gallery in September 2022.

Elsewhere, legendary Pop artist Claes Oldenburg has died at age 93.
