Pace Chronicles the Evolution of Music Photography in New Exhibition
On view in New York until August 19.

Studio to Stage is a new photo exhibition that seeks to highlight the intimate collaboration between photographers and musicians.
Housed at Pace Gallery’s 540 West 25th Street location in New York, the show presents an extensive collection of work from prominent and emerging artists, including Robert Frank, Gordon Parks, Ming Smith, Peter Hujar, Irving Penn, Paul Graham, Janette Beckman, Rahim Fortune, and many more.
From Miles Davis to The Rolling Stones, Bob Dylan and the Spice Girls, Sade to André 3000 — the exhibition argues that the mythology behind these figures are just as attributed to the photographers who documented them, as to their own celebrity. The unique presentation of work provides viewers a thorough history of the evolution of music photography over the past century — echoing the cultural exchange between genres, eras and geographic locations.
Studio to Stage opened yesterday and will be on view at Pace New York until August 19.
