Ian Strange Releases First Monograph

Featuring all of his photographic, film, and installation works from the past 15 years.

In anticipation of his upcoming exhibition at the 2022 FotoFocus Biennial in Cincinnati, Ian Strange has released his first ever monograph.

Published by Damiani and FotoFocus, the book is the first comprehensive survey on the Australian artist’s 15 year career spanning photography, film and installation. “In my work, I’m interested in universal and shared connections to the image of the home. These are places we tend to project with a sense of stability, but are often more vulnerable and temporal than we would like to think,” Strange said in a past statement.

Disturbed Home will also feature essays by FotoFocus artistic director and curator Kevin Moore and Britt Salvesen, curator, and head of the Wallis Annenberg Photography Department and the Prints and Drawings Department at the Los Angeles County Museum of Art (LACMA). Spanning 208 pages, the book is available to purchase for $56 USD at Damiani and select bookstores worldwide.

The 2022 FotoFocus Biennial is a month-long celebration of photography and lens-based art showcasing work from a global pool of talent. The event will take place in Cincinnati from September 29 to October 8, 2022.

Elsewhere, HypeArt spoke to Jake Foreman for the latest installment of Pen & Paper.
